God Save Queens, Welcome to Exile

I was lucky enough to art direct and shoot the latest God Save Queens lingerie campaign, a beautiful polish brand with stunning undies.

I imagine queens through the ages in their underwear, this one I felt pulled by a 17th century queen, a mistress and a confidant. After becoming vampires they are exiled into the country where they live alone, pining in their underwear, feeding on pet birds and reading Justine by Marquis De Sade over and over again.

I look forward to more campaigns with God Save Queens in the future, along with more of my own secret projects so keep following for updates!

Enjoy!

Planet Mathilda

starring the effervescent mathilda tolvanen, shot by me for planet blue!!

"Signed last August when she attended an open call at Paparazzi Model Management in Helsinki, Mathilda is one fantastic Finnish find. With her delicately sculptured features, lush mouth and clear innocent blue eyes, Mathilda is a knockout. Last month she visited Paris (during her school vacation) and was signed with IMG Paris. Next stop is probably Japan, where Mathilda’s kind of beauty is so in demand. This will certainly hone her modelling skills, so when the time is right Mathilda will be ready to waltz into the fashion capitals. " -Models.com

Shot in the Arts District with a little bit of a Fifth Element (if she were a painter living in LA) influence, we had a lot of fun! This house is available for rent on AirBNB in the Arts District neighborhood, and it's so pretty!

here is the Article I did for Racked LA:

DON'T MISS STORIES.FOLLOW RACKED LA

Since Angelenos couldn't make it to Wildfox's exciting fall 2015 presentation in New York, designer (and cat lover) Kimberley Gordon is exclusively revealing her Italian-inspired range's mood board, right here. Take a virtual trip to the Amalfi Coast below, and get ready to shop the La Dolce Vita collection at Wildfox's fantastical flagship soon!

"The initial thing that made me want to go Italian was Slim Aarons photographs. He photographed fabulous people in beautiful places, doing luxurious things. I loved the idea of doing nothing all year long, and I couldn't think of a better place than Italy."

50da6-img.jpg

"I’ve always had this obsession with the 90s, and that includes the movie Stealing Beauty. It’s all about the summer of losing her innocence in Italy, very cliché and easy but so fun to watch, it makes you want to be there eating and drinking with someone painting your portrait in the vineyards."

ae4af-insp_2-0.jpg

"The Amalfi Coast looks like a dream come true, I imagine girls in the 1960’s racing around in convertibles with big hair being blown in the warm air."

a29e8-img.jpg

"Elsa Martinelli was a huge Italian icon, I love how she's photographed so frequently on mopeds or scooters. It's like the quintessential Italian thing to do! I knew right away when I saw this photo of her we needed mopeds for our campaign."

29c3c-img.jpg

"With her big, beautiful features, dark hair, pouty mouth, voluptuous body and sexy attitude, Claudia Cardinale was a key ingredient in my inspiration for the designs. Cardinale has been a UNESCO goodwill ambassador for the Defense of Women's Rights since March 2000. In February 2011 the Los Angeles Times Magazine named Cardinale among the 50 most beautiful women in film history, I think she is the ultimate role model for a young girl and I definitely wanted to pay some tribute to her with the "Kiss me Im Italian" Sweater.  "I never felt scandal and confession were necessary to be an actress. I've never revealed my self or even my body in films. Mystery is very important."

41bfa-img.jpg

"Sophia Loren sets the stage for this collection, everything about her is just delicious. She is truly the face of the Female Italian film industry!"

b94d1-img.jpg

"Creating a restaurant environment was very important to me, we paid homage to carbs this season, which have recently been getting the cold shoulder with all the gluten free fads. I couldn't think of a better time to bring pasta into our lives, and creating a setting for that with both the show and the campaign was extremely fun. This is the restaurant Im dying to visit... Hotel Caruso. Don't you just wanna die there? Wow!"

1230b-img.jpg

Speaking of WINE… Marissa hosted a wine tasting at our party, so so fun. Don't forget to vote for Marissa A Ross on the Sav blog awards!!!! We need them votes ladies, send em in. Click on the image to go quickly vote for her.

Take a Staycation for fall! Wildfox for Nordstrom :)

This Fall I felt stifled and stuck at home, I realized if I wanted to get away it was gonna have to be in my own city... my own bedroom even! That's what inspired this new shoot for WILDFOX Nordstrom specialty items. Modeled by beautiful Ashley Moore and shot by me, we hope this inspires you to get snuggly in some Wildfox and watch a million inspirational movies that transport you wherever you want to go. XX

Style Evolution: Wildfox's Kimberley Gordon

by

Kimberley Gordon

Today we bring to you our first "Style Evolution" story, a feature where we ask some of our favorite tastemakers' to look back at their outfits from their childhood through their teenage years, until they had become the trendsetters we love today. Our first sartorial retrospective is with Kimberley Gordon of Wildfox , the L.A.-based label known for its irreverent slogans, bright colors and California vibe.

Turns out, Gordon's look wasn't always loud and free. In fact, her first fashion memories involved school uniforms in the UK. Find out more about how she went from classic to crimped to cool.

What was your style like as a kid?
Kimberley Gordon: I wore very matchy-matchy sets when I was in the UK. I think because my mother loved me in them, she has amazing style. When I moved to the U.S. it was a lot of Bugs Bunny T-shirts and jean shorts. I was quite a tomboy because I didn’t really care about my clothes, more about the cartoons on my clothes.

When did you become interested in clothes?
I always loved clothes. My mother couldn’t believe how girly I was — she didn’t know where it came from. The first time I can remember being really obsessed with something was my friend Tammy’s coat when I was eight. It fit like a dress, zipped up and was tight on top then A-lined out. I searched everywhere for one with my mum but to no avail. I remember I wanted it so badly I would panic when I thought about it, as you can see it’s haunted me ever since.

Were you a trendsetter in school?
(Laughs) Not so much, but I always dressed very... differently. I wore bell bottoms and vintage T-shirts in junior high — which was a little daring, but no one emulated me at all. In high school, I sewed a lot of my own T-shirts and made denim leg warmers. I was a bit of a candy raver (JNCO jeans, tiny tanks, scratch-and-sniff  T-shirts, heavy lip liner). I know people noticed my style and pointed it out a lot but mostly because they didn’t understand it. I totally feel them...

Any cringe-worthy outfits to look back on?
Oh yeah, my worst time was probably aged 19, I was the most obsessed with Britney Spears at that point and I showed belly that should never be shown. I also crimped my hair in sections and wore denim hats... Oh lord.

What is the most memorable outfit from your youth?
Probably my tiny Spice Girls T-shirt (it was kids' size) and my JNCO jeans. The boys used to stick their binders in my back pockets, that’s how big they were.

Has anything you liked to wear as a kid made a comeback recently?
That would be frightening. Maybe neon stuff? I hope Tevas come into style, they almost do and I cross my fingers every time. They are hilarious!

What's your favorite fashion piece of the moment?
I'm obsessed with my black Prada platforms, I wear them with little white socks. I cradle them like a baby.

Self perception

One very frustrating thing to know is that I will never get the opportunity to see myself through someone else's eyes. I am the only person who will ever really know me through and through, and when I die, I will die remembering only my own experiences, I will be, essentially, alone forever.

Although frustrating at first, this thought somehow transforms into an epiphany; If this body is the only way for me to experience my life then why would I ever spend any time worrying about how I am perceived by others, or dwell over silly insecurities. Since we are all human I think it's safe to assume that everybody feels this way, they probably spend 90% of the time thinking or worrying about how others see them, but if everybody is doing this then we are rarely judging each other!

How delightful that we are so self consumed! With this knowledge we can free ourselves from fear of judgement, we can revel in the thought that everybody is only judging us as a reflection of themselves.

We spend a lot of time wishing we had better bodies, better skin tone, better hair, we spend a lot of time swooning over other men and women, dying for their legs, thinking perhaps if we obtained physical perfection then we could have it all, we would feel complete.

It's only when I stop to clear my head, when I stop and think of all the happy couples I know, happy friendships, happy love, I don't see perfect, thin bodies, I don't see dark tans and radiant eyes, I don't think of perfect sense of style or great muscle tone, in fact I don't really think of physicalities at all, I think of smiling and talking, connecting, kissing and resting heads on one another.

The world is not out looking for super models, we are not looking for dreams, we are not looking for anything but real love, in fact it seems as time goes by all I am really looking for is myself, reflected in the kindest and happiest of ways, in somebody else's eyes.

Someone who will kiss me when I am crying, someone who will ease the stress of self perception by making me laugh every day... really, really hard.

My boyfriend comes home on Tuesday, I look forward to it.
