The Feeling of summer... WILDFOX 2015

Our summer collection is finally here, and clothing will hit the online store first thing tomorrow morning, WILDFOX.COM and will be getting more and more product over the next 3 months! So cute and easy and so many things to throw on with your friends for a beach trip! I wanted the collection to have the feeling of reading an easy summer beach house novel, with addicting female characters staying at their beach house in the Hamptons, they are 1970’s New Yorkers that Woody Allen would have obsessed about. I also wanted to convey the true feeling of summer, what it is to me; going barefoot down the back path out onto the beach, coming back to the house after a long day in the sun with big easy T shirts and slightly sunburned skin. I love in the summer when you have all your girlfriends in the house and there are wet bikinis strewn in the shower, sunscreens and perfumes all over the sink counters, the smell of bacon at 11am… Dad singing in the kitchen, and just the freedom to do nothing, maybe a little shellfish grocery shopping at the corner market and blasting Frank Sinatra in an old family vacation home. I love in the summer when you’ve been out late with the girls and wake up together in bed, sand all over the sheets, still wearing your bathing suit with just a hoodie on over it. Summer is magic. California has almost a permanent summer and growing up here leaves you with tons of unforgettable beach memories, but what I really love is after the beach… the parents house that you laze around in and call boys for hours to arrange that nights bonfire.

My muses were absolutely Dianne Keaton circa 1970’s, and also my girlfriends in High school who are just stunning and wild… we were unstoppable in the summer.

Honestly I couldn’t sum this up with a paragraph, that’s why I was so compelled to write a short story. I hope you enjoy it!!

I love this version by Michael Buble, I know it's cheesy but it's so feel good summer to me! Play it while you read and look through the images :)

Born on the 4th of July, WILDFOX

I wasn't born in the USA, I moved here when I was 11 from England and I've always been passionate about my American Dream! The 4th of July means a lot to me, it is a time to celebrate what it means to be able to work hard and achieve my goals here in California. There are so many things I love about being an American Girl at heart...

Driving down PCH looking out at the ocean, music blasting, sandy toes, towels on the seats, best friends singing...

The freedom to be a woman in control of her future, to have the privilege to fight for the things we believe in, this is a special thing and in some other countries women will never get the chance to even see or feel  their own talents.

I love what America has brought me, taught me and allowed me... but most of all I love that I have had the freedom to allow myself to work towards a better life.

I hope you enjoy these pics of Carolina Sanchez I shot for the 4th of July, a celebration of being a woman in this industry, and making almost ALL (excluding white label) of our WILDFOX clothing right here in Los Angeles!! We spend the money it takes on our California made collections and strive for the best quality, creating more and more jobs for all sorts of people right here at home... most of those people women!! Let's celebrate what it is to be a woman in America. Tomorrow take time acknowledge what we take for granted on a daily basis.

The Wildfox Lagoon.

Well it's finally time, our Wildfox Spring 2014 collection hits stores this week! I don't think Ive ever worked harder on a look book than this one, but it was all so amazingly fun. I hope it transports you to our deserted Lagoon and helps you picture yourself swimming in clear oceans come your next vacation!

Starring 3 of my favorite muses, Emma Stern Nielson, Svea Kloosterhoff and Mathilde Brandi, 3 dreamy young girls arrived with their Tevas and backpacks to be shot by my lovely close friend Mark Hunter... and with the help of our wonderful makeup artist Carlene K and amazing hair stylist Anna Lee Fiorino, we transformed them into island mermaids with salty hair and luxurious tans. I hope you guys love it!!

Please leave your comments and questions and I will answer them in the comment board :) I love to hear your thoughts! XOX

"If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?

It's a question that arises often, especially in film! From the gimmicky Gilligan's Island, the sexy Blue Lagoon, the perfect Leo Dicaprio in The Beach, the amazing award winning Castaway, the terrifyingly mysterious series, Lost,  and the classic Lord of the Flies, we are constantly entertained by and questioning the idea of being stranded on a remote island. Sometimes, sitting at my desk on an extremely busy day at work, I even wish for it.

What would Wildfox look like stranded on an island, we wondered? Well it's pretty obvious… extremely sexy (with serious laugh out loud moments.)

The Wildfox girl is the ultimate beach girl, she's crafty, she's smart, she's wild and out going, and she's totally ready for an adventure! This is why the Wildfox Lagoon is our best season yet, it epitomizes everything Wildfox! This story is of 3 friends who love to watch the sunrise, eat coconuts, run down the beach naked, build huge bonfires, catch fish and cook 'em too, decorate their homes and hair with flowers, go barefoot everywhere, hike mountains to see the views, and sleep peacefully in the whipping night wind (bamboo doors wide open.)

So if we could take one thing on our island? Our Friends."
